• Why does the product work?

• What about resistance?
  The mode of action of phenols is purely physical. The bacterial cell is affected by simply splitting the cell membrane, causing it to loose water. Therefore it is impossible for bacteria to generate a resistance to this action

• Orego-Stim® has a distinctive odour– Will this affect meat or eggs?
  No. It is known that Orego-Stim® does not pass through the gut wall and thus does not impart any flavour or odour into the meat or eggs. This was confirmed by the Campden and Chorleywood Food Research Association, who performed a series of tests to confirm that the meat was untainted by Orego-Stim®.
  The distinctive odour however does have a positive effect: As well as being phenols, Carvacrol and Thymol belong to a group of compounds called Isoprenoids. Isoprenoids are natural flavours. It is thought that these compounds have a positive effect on animals and actually improve the appetite, therefore increasing feed intake.
• Will Orego-Stim® control coccidiosis?
